16 Department Goal: Postsecondary Plans
According to current research and statistics, only 28% of students starting a Bachelor’s Degree program complete it. So, 2 of 3 students drop out before graduation. In order to help our students with postsecondary retention and completion rates, we need to help students explore all options available to them.

If interested, see Mrs. Affeldt, Counselor, Military Liaison ASVAB Testing given at Pankow in the Fall. Under current law, all male U.S. citizens are required to register with Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday. In addition, non-U.S.-citizen males between the ages of 18 and 25 (inclusive) living in the United States must register.

Students are allowed one college visit day per semester, as a “school activity,” during 11th and 12th grades. College Visit Forms are available in the Counseling office.

Students complete an Education Development Plan (EDP) throughout middle school and high school. Each year builds upon the previous year.
