Christianity Buddhism Started in Judea Started in India Spread to Rome Spread to Asia -Spread peacefully -Christianity is a major religion in the world. Starting from the death of Jesus Christ, Christianity has spread across the world. The largest groups are the Roman Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church, and the Protestant churches. It also has over 2 billion believers. -The history of Christianity began from Judaism when they were being dominated politically and culturally. Because of this, they became closer to their religion. According to the Hebrew Scriptures, there was supposed to be an appointed prince of God or the Messiah. -Buddha was originated from Sanskrit, or the “awakened one”. He lived in Northern India in between the mid-6th and mid-4th centuries BCE. Buddhism spread from India to Central and Southeast Asia during the life of Buddha, and became very popular there.

Christianity Buddhism Over 2.2 Billion people Central and South East Asia All over the world Outgoing religious groups  -Buddhism’s most common in central and southeast Asia. The countries in Central and Southeast Asia that have the most people that believe in Buddhism are India (where it started from), Japan, Tokyo, and China. It was very common in these countries during the 20th century then it spread to the west. -Christianity is world’s most popular religion which means that it is practiced almost everywhere around the world. Over 2.2 billion people believe in Christianity all over the world. Although in began in the Middle East after the death of Jesus Christ. The reason Christianity is spreading so fast is because of the fact that Christianity is the most outgoing religion in the world, it also has so many different groups and sections that it looks like the best religion to believe in. 

5 Who made the religions well known
Christianity Buddhism St. Paul Buddha Constantine Paul traveled around proclaiming the word of Jesus, and because of his wisdom, people listened. He was previously a destroyer of Jesus’ followers, yet he became a huge influence to Christianity. Constantine was a Roman emperor who reigned from B.C.E. He was the first emperor to be openly Christian, and influenced his people, creating many more Christians Buddha was a humble Indian prince. He was believed to be either a great spiritual teacher or ruler, so his father protected him from the outside world. However, when he saw the suffering that was going on in the world, Buddha gave up everything he had to help the poor. He gave up his life as a prince, and pursued his life as a spiritual leader.

Buddhism Begins 5th Century B.C.E Buddhism spreads to East Asia The beginning of 3rd Century B.C.E Christianity 1st Century C.E. In the 5th Century B.C.E, Siddhartha Gautama gave up all his possessions and started the religion of Buddhism Missionaries who were sent to India for trade returned with the word of Buddhism and introduced it to China and south east Asia In the 1st century C.E, Christianity began with the death and resurrection of Jesus ZERO

7 Conclusion -Christianity was not founded by Jesus -Buddhism was created before Christianity -Christianity is the most popular religion in the world - Buddhism and Christianity are both similar, and different
