Britain cannot protect its Asian Empire Strategic materials ban pushed Japan to the Axis Continued Japanese aggression freezes assets Japan didn’t want a war with the US They wanted to go further into the South Pacific The Philippines were in the way The German strategy to beat France worked, why not a similar one for Japan against the US?
