6 “Don’t you want to be part of a group that cares about you as a person and cares about helping you grow your business?”

7 Why would people Meetup?
“Close relationships are the single most important factor in whether someone is happy” - Richard Layard. Economist, LSE

8 Why Meetup – The Power of Groups
In groups, people unite, activate, mobilize, advocate, agitate, lobby, endorse, create democracy, and change things. "Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Mead

9 How does it work? 1 Mary… 2 Meetup helps Mary find local Moms groups and… 3 Meet with others locally who share her need. Organizer has a baby. She needs some advice about teething and wants a playgroup… Westminster, CO Moms Meetup Group Why Organize “I had a vision for it and wanted to see it happen” “Would like to practice running a larger organization” “It is a great way to meet potential customers” “I like to lead” “I want to learn from others” “It is hard to meet people who can relate to what I am going through” “I want one in my town” Whatever their needs, people find Meetup via Word of Mouth, Google/Yahoo! search, and the media. 17 97% of organizers say Intuit added value
Intuit is the perfect sponsor for small business meetup groups... its a great fit for the members of my meetups. We are grateful for Intuit’s sponsorship because we make our Meetups free to the public. It is the main free community event in downtown dc! …also if Intuit could sponsor at least one large event that is open to Meetup members once a year in Atlanta. I am sure that would sell more software and grow the brand.

18 Add value-and they’ll promote your brand
Thank you so much for piloting this wonderful program. My members have really enjoyed the activities ideas and coupons and I have loved having Huggies represented on our site.” It would be WONDERFUL if we could get some coupons for the group. I would even be happy to hold a Huggies Event on our calendar. A good time to pass out the coupons then, etc. I enjoy the relationship and the professionalism from all parties: Meetup, Amex, sponsored organizers and the staff. I am extremely grateful and will do everything that I can to help build a strong and solid relationship among us all.
