2 Primary and Secondary Storage
ICT systems need to store programs and data and this storage can be either in: Primary storage – in chips inside the computer Secondary storage (or backup storage) outside the computer

3 Primary Storage Two types of primary storage 1. ROM (Read Only Memory)
2. RAM (Random Access Memory) With both types of primary storage the programs and data are stored on chips and are available immediately by the central processing unit They both plug into the mother-board
