2. Background
Gender Equality is one such point which talks about the progress of a Nation.
Women & girls play a major role in building a better nation and are drivers of gender equality.
Although we see some amazing tremendous growth in the rights and wellbeing of girls and women in all areas like education, political, health etc., in spite of it, there are many areas that still state that there is a huge work to be done related to gender equality, women rights and women empowerment.
In last 3 years down the line PLS worked on building a strong awareness program on Save Girls, Educate Girls & Personal Safety of Girls, Connecting personally with adolescent girls and women in the communities, slums and schools.
On a deep discussion drive it was identified that the strategic shift has to be done that educates Men and Boys about
respecting women and girls and
support them in path of their growth to achieve their potential and
help them grow and contribute in building and development of Nation

3. What is Respect S.H.E Campaign ?
Respect S.H.E (Solicitude for Her Esteem) is a campaign designed to sensitize the world and create awareness about Gender Equality among Men and Boys by
showing them the real picture and views of the girls and women facing across and
why they need to change their mindsets and
Start pledging to support Girls and Women
In this campaign Men pledge to join hands with our Campaign and stand to raise awareness in their communities, to create ambassadors and expand our network in creating awareness so that the girls and women around them are supported to achieve their goals and dreams.

5. Views of Girls & Women during our discussions?
Suman, Age 14 Private School – We wish to build our future and also go to school for education but still Boys are always behind us , they try to abuse us, You teach us to Protect ourselves, Why are boys are not taught to respect Girls
Nargis – Age 15 Govt School – I always go to school, But Men stare at us and pass colorful languages, touch our private parts even in public places and we are not able to do anything as they don’t feel sorry and just pass away, when we tell to our parents about it our parents avoid us sending to school
Manju – Age 33 Lali Gaon – I did not go to school and wish is my daughters should go to school, but girl safety is major issue, second mindset of my husband that what will girls do after education – should change. Hence even If I want my daughter to get educated I avoid it, even If I will send I will get them married soon.
