1 Bachelor Psychology Introduction day I’m going to be talking to you
I’m going to be talking AT you Then I’m going to check off some boring administrative tasks that still needto happen Then some of your peers are going to take the stage Introduction day

2 Welcome Getting to know each other Programme
Problem Based Learning (PBL) Practicalities Questions Buddies

3 Welcome! Good morning everyone, and welcome to the introduction for the psychology bachelor! Welcome to a 120 new first year students that will from hereonout reside in our tutorial groups, lectures and library! Some of you may have only hopped a few countries, or even a few towns over if you already lived in the Netherlands or are in fact, Dutch, some of you might have traveled halfway across the world to get yourselves here! Which is so spectacular to me, you brave idiots. Do you guys wanna see who is here? You guy wanna take a look?

4 Bachelor Psychology: Class of 2015-2016
Between 100 and 126 students 22 Dutchies 40 Germans Representatives of 38 countries Waaaaauw, would you look at that. Germany is representing, Like, I stress myself out over having to go to Groningen and you guys just go ‘whooptiedoo you know what’s fun, going to a country that is SUPER flat everywhere, where it rains ALL the time and where they eat this really weird black stuff as candy, and I’m just going to go there for a degree!” Speaking of, dropjes, can I see hands in the air: Who has eaten dropjes? Okay, that’s quite a few. Not all though. I know I didn’t exactly give it the best promo just now, but it might be a good test: If you have a dropje and you like it, you are already 50% part of the Dutch community. If you have a dropje and you don’t like it, you have to go out and find something else Dutch to eat that you actually like, and BAM, you’re also part of the Holland family. You guys wanna try a dropje? Come on, get excited, you’re in a room, a stranger is offering you candy: What can POSSIBLY go wrong? While you eat your candy, I will introduce myself and I will no longer be a stranger. So then it’s okay, right? Okay.

What’s one of the strangest things you’ve ever done? How did you get into Psychology? What is/was your first impression of Rotterdam? Who are some people you’d like to meet someday? Do you think people can control their own destiny? What is the biggest lie you’ve ever told? What is your favorite place to visit?

8 Who am I? Lianne Keemink Coordinator of International Psychology Bachelor T My name is Lianne Keemink and I am actually the Program coordinator! I graduated in psychology here for both my bachelor and my master degree, and I started working here as a teacher before being the person who takes care of the international psychology program and its students. As you can see I am a very brave and courageous person, as long as there is ice cream involved. In all seriousness, together with the study advisor who will join us later, I am one of the people you go to when you don’t know what to do, who to ask, where to go. I make a lot of jokes but I do take you very serious. Unless you ask me if I can send you the exams and the answers, in which case I will laugh so hard you’re going to have to carry me to the medicine department to make sure I’m okay.

23 Enrollment Student cards Diplomas

24 Thank you! Wat kun je worden?
