3 Introduction Afghanistan is located in Asia and it has total area of 251,825 sq. miles being 41st biggest country in the world (slightly smaller than Texas) Its border countries are Iran, Pakistan, China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan Afghanistan has 34 provinces and Kabul is the capital city Afghanistan has population of over 31 million

4 Landforms Afghanistan is a country located in Central Asia where its civilization started as early as 3000 BCE, back then called Ariana. The Hindu Kush mountain range reaches a height of 7,492 m (24,580 ft.) at Noshaq, Afghanistan’s highest peak. Afghanistan is mostly consistent of rugged mountains; it located in north and southwest regions. The Hindu Kush mountains that run northeast to southwest divide country into three major regions: Central Highlands, Southwestern highland and Northern Plains
