2 Day One Questions What is the primary purpose of the executive branch?
Why is the president not the only person in the executive branch? Do two column notes on the five parts of the executive branch. On one side list the title and on the other side list the duties. Draw a graphic organizer that helps you remember the presidents four primary areas of duties and the duties encompassed in each area. What is the President’s role in lawmaking? What are the qualifications to be president? (you could do a graphic organizer here also) What are the term limits of the President?

3 Day One Answers The primary role of the executive branch is to enforce laws passed by Congress. Our founding fathers realized one person could not carry out all of the duties of the President without assistance.

6 He approves laws passed by Congress
He approves laws passed by Congress. If he doesn’t approve the law, he can veto it. One has to be 35 years old, a natural-born US citizen, and have lived in the US for 14 years. The President serves a four year term and can serve no more than two terms.

Who is the head of the judicial branch? How many people make up the judicial branch? What is the main responsibility of the judicial branch? What is judicial review? What are they experts on?
