Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah Hymn # 682

Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah, Pilgrim through this barren land; I am weak, but Thou art mighty Hold me with Thy pow’r-ful hand;

Bread of Heaven, Bread of Heaven, Feed me till I want no more, Feed me till I want no more.

Open now the crystal fountain, Whence the healing stream doth flow; Let the fire and cloudy pillar, Lead me all my journey through;

Strong Deliverer, Strong Deliverer, Be Thou my strength and shield, Be Thou my strength and shield.

When I tread the verge of Jordan, Bid my anxious fears subside; Bear me through the swelling current, Land me safe on Canaan’s side;

Songs of praises, Songs of praises, I will ever give to Thee, I will ever give to Thee.

[ Pastor/CONGREGATION ]
THE CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 105 [ Pastor/CONGREGATION ]

Minister: Honor and majesty surround him; strength and beauty fill his sanctuary. People: O nations of the world, recognize the Lord; recognize that the Lord is glorious and strong. Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice!

Minister: Give to the Lord the glory he deserves
Minister: Give to the Lord the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come into his courts. People: Worship the Lord in all his holy splendor. Let all the earth tremble before him.

Confession of Faith: from Romans 8

ALL: There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus; for we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth,

nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Congregational Prayer of Confession ALL: O Lord, great God, whom we behold in awe and wonder, who has kept covenant and steadfast love with Your people from age to age:

we have sinned and done wrong and acted wickedly and rebelled, turning aside from Your commandments and ordinances. We have known in our hearts what is right, and yet we did wrong anyway.

We have been fascinated by evil, delighted with pleasing ourselves, satisfying our desires, pampering ourselves with pleasures. O Lord, great God, have mercy on us according to Your steadfast love.

We know You are a God who delights in goodness
We know You are a God who delights in goodness. Grant that we too might delight in goodness.

These prayers we present to You, O Father, in the name of Jesus, the Lamb who was slain and yet lives forevermore.

SILENT PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AND CONFESSION

Words of Assurance and Pardon of the Gospel (Romans 5:8) Minister: God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. This is the good news! People: Thanks Be to our great God!
