2 Jesus: Author of the Children of God
John 1:12-13

3 Chiasm: A structure in literature

4 John 1:9-13 The true light that gives light to every man was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.

5 John 1:9-13 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God

6 Who are the Children of God?
John 8:44 …you are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do.

7 Who are the Children of God?
Eph 2:1-3 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience--

8 Who are the Children of God?
Eph 2:1-3 …among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

9 Who are the Children of God?
Everyone who is not a child of God is a child of the devil. They are spiritually dead.

Galatians 2:20 it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. This life that I live now, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave his life for me “He gave the right to become children of God— children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God.”

28 These things are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing, you may have life in His name.
