3 Aims to encourage young people to:
RI D1040 New Generations Website   At  the RIBI Final, the winner will be presented with a trophy; £250; a day's experience at Fifteen Restaurant, London (founded by Jamie Oliver); and a trip to the Olive Harvest in Tuscany (accompanied by a parent or guardian) with sponsors Filippo Berio. The second placed person will receive £200 and the third placed person will receive £100 Aims to encourage young people to: Rotary Young Chef aims to encourage young people to develop cookery skills and consider healthy eating options and to prove their ability to cope in a demanding competitive situation. The competition is open to all students in full time secondary school education including students doing NVQ level one  in catering colleges. Students must be aged 17 years or under. Rotary Club in conjunction with  local school(s) produce a winner to enter the District final District final entrants are asked to prepare A 3-course healthy meal for 2 people (starter, main course and dessert) costing no more than £15.00.   The District final allows Setting up time& table preparation of  30 minutes then  cooking time of two hours. The District final generates two winners who go through to the regional final. Each regional final (usually of four districts)  will produce one winner to go on to the RIBI final in London At each stage of the competition points are awarded for healthy choice of dishes, menu planning, choice & cost of the Ingredients, range of skills used, neatness of working area and hygiene, presentation of table (including flowers, cloth etc)  and the taste and presentation of each course.

Website   To register Please register with Rtn. Gill Poole if your club intends to take part in next year’s Rotary Young Chef competition. Only 8 places will be available at the district final at Betty's Cookery School in January 2014. Just as they did in 2013, I am expecting clubs will have to hold joint group events (after their own club event) to enable us to find those 8 finalists.  To enable me to assess which and where the participating clubs are situated, please register your interest in the project by sending an Rtn.
