DEPARTMENT was established in 2001 and has UG PROGRAM (since 2001) PG PROGRAM (since 2007) ORTHODONTICS TAUGHT IN 3rd AND 4th YR BDS MDS ORTHODONTICS & DENTOFACIAL ORTHOPAEDICS THREE YEAR COURSE ELEVEN BATCHES OF BDS have PASSED EIGHT BATCHES OF MDS have PASSED MDS students are exposed not only to fixed treatment modalities but are also guided to conduct good quality research.

Seminars and One to one interaction and discussions with the students during Practical classes and clinical postings. GROWTH MODIFICATION PROCEDURES Attempted in growing patients In class II subjects- promotion of mandibular growth/ restraining of Maxillary growth is needed In Class III subjects, restraining of mandibular growth / promoting maxillary growth is required. Done using myofunctional and orthopaedic appliances CORRECTIVE ORTHODONTICS Done for malocclusions like Bimaxillary protrusion, Class II div 1 , Class II Div 2, Class III, crowding , spacing, deep bite , open bite etc OR In special conditions like impactions, transpositions, transmigration, cleft lip and palate SURGICAL ORTHODONTICS Done in adult patients having severe malocclusion with skeletal deformities Various surgical techniques include single or double jaw surgeries Maxillary surgeries-Lefort I maxillary osteotomy Mandibular surgeries -Bilateral Saggital Split Osteotomy, mandibular supapical osteotomy, genioplasty etc.
