1 The Celebrate U Foundation
Celebrate U celebrates every child on their special day while encouraging self esteem inspiring happiness and giving them hope for the future through education.

2 The Celebrate U Foundation
The Celebrate U Foundation hosts, organizes and manages birthday parties for disadvantaged children, children who reside or are temporarily in shelters, children who are infirmed, disabled or cant afford to celebrate their birthday in a fun joyous and educational way. These parties build self-esteem, and give hope through the importance of getting an education as well. The Celebrate U Foundation works with local and national organizations to donate crafts, food, music, gifts and other services to help execute the parties.

3 Every child should feel special
Celebrating a child’s birthday acknowledges their accomplishments: Recognizes their importance and existence in the world Promotes what they achieved the previous year Builds self-esteem Gives hope for the future Children should feel special, loved and relevant. Birthday parties allow friends and family to acknowledge a child According to the National Association for Self Esteem: ‘…the preponderance of evidence underscores the significance of self-esteem and its relationship to so many of the problems facing youth today. It is also evident that programs to foster self-esteem can serve as a "social vaccine" in reducing the incidence of many such problems.’1 Birthday parties are a great boost to any child's self-esteem. Making them feel like kings (or queens) for the day is one of the best (and most lasting) gifts you can give them. 2 Pbs.org

5 Future plans Celebrate U will launch in New York City with the goal of being a nationwide organization Celebrate U will establish a model that other children in their community can emulate and continue the message of bringing a smile to every child’s face on their birthday Tie in with charities such as Children for Children to provide gifts that other children donate

6 Founders Add photo of girls Chase Kauder and Talia Eskenazi were both thirteen years old when they founded the organization after they visited schools in upper Manhattan that had no school supplies at all. After speaking with the children they found out most of them never had birthday parties. At the time the girls were doing event planning for birthday parties around New York City and decided their time and efforts would be put to much better use by bringing the joy of smiles, love and education to children who really needed it. The Celebrate U Foundation believes all children should know what it feels like to be honored and have their family and friends tell them how much they love them. It is very important to a chil’sd self-esteem to be recognized and understand how special they are. Most of all during the parties using art, music and stories and of course fun, the Celebrate U Foundation will stress the importance of hope through education. Each child will receive two gifts, one fun and the other a basket of school supplies. 9 Competitive Overview Cause for Celebration: To improve the lives of children, families and individuals in need by providing opportunities to build positive self worth through the power of celebration.” Birthday Fairies is a national organization that provides birthday parties to children in need. Anna Koppelman, a twelve-year-old girl from New York City founded the charity after visiting a homeless shelter with her fifth grade class. At Birthday Fairies, we believe all children should know what it feels like to be honored, to have their family and friends tell them how much they love them and how terrific they are. In addition to cupcakes and gifts we integrate education, arts, recreation and music into each party. Birthday Fairies strives to celebrate as many birthdays as possible. As Anna likes to say, "A cupcake can't change someone's life but people who care can.“ Birthday Wishes: The mission of Birthday Wishes is to provide birthday parties for homeless children. We believe that all children, regardless of their living situation, should celebrate their birthdays joyfully, surrounded by family, friends, and others who care. Our grassroots philosophy fosters the spirit of volunteerism and community service in the adults, children, and families who donate their time and resources to the Birthday Wishes mission.

10 Wish I May is a Non-Profit Organization providing 'Happy Birthdays' to underprivileged children and their parents/guardians in the Springfield area. The children we reach are children whose families are experiencing extreme financial difficulties and find it impossible to provide even the smallest birthday celebration. Birthday Angels Celebrating birthdays are about more than cake and candles. They are about giving children the experience that reinforces their sense of self worth and importance and establishes their social standing amongst their peers. We designed a system that enables us to reach thousands of children each year on a micro budget. The economic model is based on collaboration between Birthday Angels, donors and volunteers which we call the Circle of Giving. Small donations of $54 pay for the Party Kits which we design, produce and give to volunteers who run the parties for children. A thank you card made by the child after the party is sent to the donors sharing their joy, making the donation come full circle.
