2 Pablo Picasso (October 25, 1881- April 8, 1973)
Picasso was born in Málaga, Spain. He was born Catholic but converted to Atheism later on. His family was not poor but they weren’t rich either. His father was an artist who helped Picasso get his skills. His sisters death at 7 scarred him. At the age of 13 his art skills were even better than his fathers.

His father had been training him since he was a teenager. One of his earliest works was “The First Communion”. It shows his late sister receiving her Communion. In 1900 he goes to Paris to be inspired. He struggled making it in Paris at first. By the time he was 20 he gained a respectable reputation. His first real work was during his “Blue Period” along with his “Rose Period”. His paintings reflected his emotions. The better his life was the happier the mood of his paintings were. 4 Blue Period Between Picasso had a period of paintings where the mood was very sad cause he was sad in life. They included a lot of blue, green, and darker colors.

5 Rose Period Took place between During this time Picasso’s art became more happy which reflected on his life getting better. These paintings gained him the attention of all of Europe and even America.

6 Cubism Cubism is a style of painting Picasso and Georges Braque invented. It used simple basic shapes and put them together to make complex paintings. It was basically was a collage of shapes and stuff that creates an image.

7 Picasso’s legacy Picasso died on April 8th, 1973 in Mougins, France. He died at 91. He lived a lot more than most artists of his time did. His paintings still lived on though. His paintings have sold for hundreds of millions. Throughout his life he made 13,000 paintings and over 400 sculptures.
