Social Justice Issues Task: Choose one social justice issue to present. Details: Research the facts. Find out what the Church teaches. Examine your conscience. For ‘Research the facts’, think about the following questions:
What is the social issue? Who is concerned by the social issue? Why and when did it become an issue? Where does it mainly happen? (E.g. in developed or developing countries) Are there any statistics/ empirical data supporting its need?

For ‘Find out what the Church teaches’, think about the following questions:
What is the Church’s opinion about your chosen social issue? What can you/ we as Christians do to help, especially in your hometown? Use this website for information about what the Catholic Church teaches: Click on ‘Social Teaching’, then ‘Issues’.

For ‘Examine your conscience’, think about the following questions:
What is your opinion? Do you think enough is being done in order to deal with your social issue? Do you agree or disagree to the Church’s approach to the issue?

Describe your chosen social justice issue in one sentence.
Summarise the main facts in regards to your chosen social justice issue. How would you solve your social justice issue using what you have learned? (Be realistic!) What charities and/or organisations can you find which try to address your social justice issue? What could be done by Saints in order to minimise and/or help with your social justice issue? How would you convince someone else that he/she has to be involved and/or help to prevent your chosen social justice issue? Choose your own task based on your confidence on the topic! Tip: Work at your own pace, this is not a race!
