2 Programme management structure I.
Danube Programming Committee (DPC): Main task: Preparation of the Cooperation Programme - Members: representatives of the Participating Countries Monitoring Committee (MC): - supervises the implementation of the DTP and selects projects to be financed - ensure the quality and effectiveness of programme implementation Managing Authority (MA): - is responsible for the overall programme implementation Joint Secretariat (JS): central contact point for potential project applicants and Lead Beneficiaries of selected/running operations monitors and supports the implementation of approved projects provides technical support to Programme bodies

National Contact Points (NCPs): NCP’s are to be set up by each participating country to complement transnational activities of the MA and the JS by involving stakeholders from the national level as well as to contribute to the national and transnational programme management. Main tasks: Provide information to potential applicants Provide advice to and assist project partners Provide information on achievements of the programme Support programme management

5 Specific Danube features
High number of small countries in a relatively small area Very complex governance structure… consensus between 14 Partner States… Huge partnerships in projects to ensure the necessary representation High diversity of countries A. Different political status Member States, Accession States, Neighbor Countries 3 different funding sources: further complexity B. Different development level Different needs, potentials and interests Different levels of ETC experience

6 Specific„interreg” and „transnational” features
6 -8 Partners from at least 3 Participating Countries (but usually not enough) Submission of the project proposal by the so called „Lead Partner” „Soft” projects: joint development of ideas, concepts, plans, solutions, preparation of future investments – no direct infrastructure development 1-3 million euro project budget The goals and results of the project have to be specific and clearly addressing the DTP Cooperation Programme Relevance for the Danube Macroregional Strategy is an asset High administrative requirements especially for the Lead Partners Programme and project language is English

7 Calls and the selection procedure I.
Eligible partners: public or private legal entities or international organizations acting under the national law The eligibility of applicants will be specified in the Application Package for each call for proposals One call for proposals per year One or two step procedure Opened, targeted or restricted Submission of proposals to the Joint Secretariat (JS) - not to the European Commission Evaluation through JS and/or independent experts Selection by the transnational body: Monitoring Committee
