3 The Water Cycle It is the process by which water moves through the Earth and atmosphere. Use your textbook and find the definitions for evaporation, condensation and precipitation. The ocean is the largest body of water on Earth- so big that it covers 75% of Earth’s surface The sun is what provides the energy that evaporates water and heats the land

5 The Water Cycle 75% of the surface of Earth is water. Without water we could not survive Water has 4 characteristics Color Clarity Salinity Taste Water is the lifeblood of organisms. Nutrients are distributed and wastes products are removed via water.
