This Is My Father’s World Hymn #143

This is my Father’s world, and to my listening ears all nature sings, and round me rings the music of the spheres.

This is my Father’s world
This is my Father’s world. I rest me in the thought Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas His hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father’s world, The birds their carols raise; The morning light, the lily white, Declare their maker’s praise.

This is my Father’s world, He shines in all that’s fair, in the rustling grass I hear Him pass, He speaks to me everywhere.

This is my Father’s World, O let me ne’er forget that though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the Ruler yet.

This is my Father’s world
This is my Father’s world. The battle is not done; Jesus who died, shall be satisfied, And Earth and Heaven be one

[ Pastor/CONGREGATION ]
THE CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 77:11-15 [ Pastor/CONGREGATION ]

Minister: I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember Your wonders of old. I will ponder all Your work, and meditate on Your mighty deeds. People: Your way, O God, is holy. What god is great like our God?

Minister: You are the God who works wonders; You have made known Your might among the peoples. People: You with Your arm redeemed Your people, the children of Jacob and Joseph.

Confession of Faith: from Scots Confession

ALL: For this we constantly believe, that God, after the fearful and horrible defection of man from his obedience, did seek Adam again, call upon him, rebuke his sin, convict him of the same,

and, in the end made unto him a most joyful promise; that the seed of the woman should break down the serpent’s head, that is, He should destroy the works of the devil:

which promise, as it was repeated, and made more clear from time to time, so was it embraced with joy, and most constantly received of all the faithful.

Congregational Prayer of Confession ALL: Holy and merciful God, in Your presence we confess our sinfulness, our shortcomings, and our offenses against You.

You alone know how often we have sinned in wandering from Your ways, in wasting Your gifts, in forgetting Your love.

Have mercy on us, O Lord, for we are ashamed and sorry for all we have done to displease You.

Forgive us, and help us to live in Your light and walk in Your ways, for the sake of Jesus Christ, our Savior. Lord, hear our prayers.

SILENT PRAYERS OF THANKSGIVING AND CONFESSION

Words of Assurance and Pardon of the Gospel (Jeremiah 31) Minister: Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah. For I will forgive heir iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. This is the good news! People: Thanks Be to our great God!

My Faith Looks Up To Thee
Hymn 539

My faith looks up to Thee, Thou Lamb of Calvary
Savior divine! Now hear me while I pray, Take all my guilt away, o let me from this day be wholly Thine!

May Thy rich grace impart strength to my fainting heart
My zeal inspire; as Thou hast died for me, O may my love to Thee Pure, warm, and changeless be, a living fire;

While life’s dark maze I tread, and griefs around me spread;
Be Thou my guide; Bid darkness turn to day, Wipe sorrow’s tears away, Nor let me ever stray from Thee aside;

When ends life’s passing dream, when death’s cold, threatening stream
Shall o’er me roll, Blest Savior, then, in love, Fear and distrust remove; O lift me safe above, a ransomed soul! *

The Proclamation of Scripture

Romans 8:29 New Living Translation (NLT)   29 For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn[a] among many brothers and sisters

2 Corinthians 3:18 New Living Translation (NLT)   18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

1 John 3:2 New Living Translation (NLT)   2 Dear friends, we are already God’s children, but he has not yet shown us what we will be like when Christ appears. But we do know that we will be like him, for we will see him as he really is.

I Love to Tell the Story Hymn # 444

I love to tell the story Of unseen things above, Of Jesus and His glory, Of Jesus and His love. I love to tell the story, Because I know ‘tis true; It satisfies my longings As nothing else can do.

I love to tell the story, ‘Twill be my theme in glory, To tell the old, old story Of Jesus and His love.

I love to tell the story, More wonderful it seems Than all the golden fancies Of all our golden dreams. I love to tell the story, It did so much for me; And that is just the reason I tell it now to thee.

I love to tell the story, ‘Twill be my theme in glory, To tell the old, old story Of Jesus and His love.

I love to tell the story, ‘Tis pleasant to repeat What seems, each time I tell it, More wonderfully sweet. I love to tell the story, For some have never heard The message of salvation From God’s own Holy Word.

I love to tell the story, ‘Twill be my theme in glory, To tell the old, old story Of Jesus and His love.

I love to tell the story, For those who know it best Seem hungering and thirsting To hear it like the rest. And when, in scenes of glory, I sing the new, new song, ‘Twill be the old, old story That I have loved so long.

I love to tell the story, ‘Twill be my theme in glory, To tell the old, old story Of Jesus and His love.

Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty Hymn # 3

Holy, holy, holy. Lord God Almighty
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee; Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty! God in three persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! all the saints adore Thee, Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea; Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee, Which wert and art, and evermore shalt be.

Holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide Thee, Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see, Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee, Perfect in pow’r, in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy. Lord God Almighty
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! All Thy works shall praise Thy name, in earth, and sky, and sea; Holy, holy, holy! merciful and mighty! God in three persons, blessed Trinity!
