Our Aim To outline key areas of our EYFS Maths Curriculum, explain how we teach maths in school and give you ideas to support maths learning at home

How do our children learn
Maths at Dorset Road? Whole class carpet sessions Focused activities indoors and outdoors Cross curricular links to other areas of learning Lots of talking Thinking Self-discovery Problem solving Play Using concrete objects to represent abstract ideas Asking questions Real-life learning Practical and engaging lessons – hooks! Booster groups/interventions ‘I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.’ (A Chinese proverb)
