Homework Reading. Children read individually at least once a week in school and have a weekly Book Talk reading session. (Please write in planner, particularly during Reading Awards) Maths Targets - Every other week Spellings - tested every Monday Comprehension - given on Fridays (for children on white reading books and above)

7 Expectations in Year Two
Independence Children are responsible for their belongings and organising themselves at the end of the day. We also encourage children to put their reading books in a special box in the classroom when they need changing. Please encourage independence when getting ready for school too. Politeness The traffic light behaviour system is continuing. When children are on orange they will miss 5 minutes of the following playtime. When a child is on the red traffic light they will go to see Mrs Turner and parents will be informed at the end of the day. Behaviour policy on school website.

8 Parent helpers Please come and chat if you’re able to help regularly. (You will need to fill in a DBS form with the office.)

9 Handwriting Children are starting to join up their writing. Warning! It may be messy!

10 What to bring to school Water bottles (no squash) everyday. Book bag with planner and reading books. Spelling books for tests on Mondays. Coat. PE kit on a Monday (if you have taken it home for the weekend).

11 PE Kit Pumps/Trainers (not laces, unless they can tie them quickly)
T-shirt shorts Tracksuit bottoms Tape for earrings/studs Hair tied back Keep PE kits in school until half term. Take kit home to wash at your own discretion.

12 Other Important Information
We will make teacher assessments in Reading, Writing, Science and Maths. Newsletters – You should receive these by Parentmail every Friday, please let the office know if you don’t get them.
