Disregard of foundational principles a sign of immaturity, susceptibility to sin

Leads to apostasy & spiritual destruction

Sometimes there are people in our assemblies who do not know these fundamental principles
Important to reiterate “where we stand” on many issues so all will know that we have not changed.

2 Peter 1:10-14 – important to be reminded
Acts 20:26,27 - the “Whole Counsel of God”
Jeremiah 6:15,16 - Told to stand in “the Old Paths”
Hebrews 2:1 - “lest we drift away”

6. How do we Return to the Basics & What Are They?
1 Peter 2:1,2 - “grow thereby”
Hebrews 5:14-6:2 – “leaving the discussion of elementary principles of Christ, go on to perfection”
2 Timothy 4:1-5 -“Preach the Word”
Acts 20: Elders to shepherd
Elders who know any house must have a foundation before it can rise

7. What are some Basics? Existence of God Inspiration of the Bible
How to Study the Bible
What must one do to be Saved?
The blood of Jesus & what it does for the child of God
The church & the Christians’ relationship to it.

8. Need to be Reminded of Basic Truth upon which we have Built
Hebrews 2:1 NKJV
1 Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away.”
