1 NBIS bioinformatics support
Consultation - feedback on your project We offer up to three hours of free consultation to all projects. We strongly recommend that you get in touch with us for a consultation meeting as early as possible, i.e., when you are in the planning stage of your project And before ordering data. You can also come to us if you want us to suggest a bioinformatics strategy for your grant proposal. Usually, we will offer a meeting with a coordinator and one or more bioinformatics experts where you will get the chance to present your project. Bioinformatics support - help with analyses We offer support for SEK800 per hour. These hours are not tied to specific days/weeks but can be spread out over several months if necessary. We only count time when the expert is actively working with your project (including meetings), not when the analyses are running in the computer. Only available if you already have data (e.g., NGS-sequences, mass-spec data etc.). We also have a specialized team for assembly and annotation. The support we offer will be based on your needs. If you want to run the analyses yourself but need help to get started, we can give expert advice on best practices and suggest tools for you. We can be there as a discussion partner for your whole project if you like. We can also do all the bioinformatic analyses for you and deliver the final results to you. This is our most common type of support. Bioinformatics - long-term Support (free, based on scientific evaluation) The Bioinformatics Long-term Support offers extensive bioinformatics support to a limited set of scientifically outstanding projects. This support has been enabled primarily by a generous grant from Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (KAW). The idea is simple: A senior bioinformatician will work in your project 500 hours for free! Hands-on involvement by the applying research group is strictly required to ensure efficient knowledge transfer. In addition to the regular projects, we also aim to grant support to some additional projects with a clear focus on data integration, which can be subject to more extensive systems development support. Bioinformatics - drop-in help Bioinformatics Drop-in for researchers wanting to discuss bioinformatics problems with experts from NBIS. Tuesdays at 10am in the KBC cafeteria (odd weeks) or the Mol. Biol lunchroom (even weeks) More information at nbis.se !
