1 High School and Beyond Plan
Melissa Turner T-2-4, AVID & RS Counselor (A-K) (509) Shannon Miller College and Career Specialist (509)

2 Dear Volunteer, You will have a conversation with the students about their plans after graduation. We use an online Google Doc to guide you through the conversation. They’ve used an online tool called Naviance as a guide towards their plan since 8th grade. Naviance holds their whole planning process and senior check-list. The check-list activities are called “tasks”. Each task was meant to help guide them through planning their pathway. You will go over their tasks with them in the interview. Keep in mind, some students have more developed plan than others and this may or may not be documented in Naviance. The goal is for each student to have a plan! Use your best judgment when going through the Google Doc and have fun. Ask questions, talk and get to know our wonderful kids. If you have any questions, I will be available at anytime. Thank you so much for your help, ~Melissa Turner

10 Questions How many students will I interview?
Our goal is to interview 3 students within their class period of 55 minutes. You will spend approximately minutes with each student. What do I do if the form link does not work or stops in the middle of an interview? We have hard copies available. Just look for me. Can I ask questions not listed on the form? Absolutely, please do! Would it be acceptable for a student to provides me with proof of any task through their phone? Yes and No. The NAVIANCE tasks must be shown from the laptop. BUT the optional pathway documents are acceptable through other electronic device. What types of comments are you looking for? How well the student was prepared/unprepared, your thoughts, follow-up instructions, or no comments at all.

11 The goal is for each student to have a plan!
Use your best judgement. If they are able to thoroughly explain their plans, please mark complete. If they are totally lost and have no idea, please mark incomplete. The T-2-4 team will easily identify the students who are incomplete and intentionally meet with them to discuss possible plans. Have fun!
