To inform the Service Member of some of the services provided by Navy Legal Services Office (NLSO)

Estate planning

5. The services listed previously are a no cost benefit of active duty service members
Retirees can utilize the legal services on a space available basis
Contact your local office well in advance
Utilize your benefits prior to separation/retirement

6. Post government service employment restriction counseling
Required for all DoD personnel who leave military service for the private sector

7. Personal Lifetime Ban
After leaving government service, you may not represent another company or individual to the government regarding particular matters you worked on

8. Official Responsibility 2 year ban
May not represent someone else to the government regarding particular matters that were pending under your responsibility during your last year of government service

9. Trade or treaty 1 year ban
May not advise, aid or represent someone regarding trade/treaty negotiations that you worked on during your last year of government service

10. There are additional restrictions for retired and reserve personnel regarding foreign employment
Failure to contact your legal office could result in forfeiture of retired pay
