1 UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION

2 Purpose To inform that they may be eligible for Unemployment Compensation for ex-Service members(UCX), also referred to as unemployment insurance.

3 WHO SHOULD FILE ?

4 Qualified Members who are separating or, some cases, retiring from active duty may qualify for unemployment compensation. Refer interested members to the state to which they will relocate for eligibility and application procedures. The TSM will need to file a claim in their home State Workforce Agencies(SWAs), through agreement with the Secretary of Labor, act as agent of the Secretary for the purpose of providing unemployment compensation to ex-Service members.

5 Due to NDAA 16, those members using
Post 911 GI Bill are no longer able to draw unemployment compensation at the same time The UCX law(5 U.S.C ) provides for the payment of unemployment compensation to Service members separated from the Military Service for certain reasons.

7 You may apply for benefits as soon as you are unemployed or your hours are reduced.
