2 Numerator The numerator tells us how many parts of the whole are being considered. 1 2 1 green part

3 Denominator The denominator tells us the total number of equal parts in the whole object. 1 2 2 equal parts

4 Equivalent Fractions / Reducing
Equivalent fractions have the same value, even though they look different. Why? When you multiply/divide the numerator AND denominator by the same number, the fraction keeps its value.
