A joint venture: Iridium Communications, NAV CANADA, ENAV (Italy), Irish Aviation Authority and Naviair (Denmark) Goal: reduce aircraft separation minima through ADS-B (out) via Low Earth Orbiting (LEO) satellites Benefits First ever complete pole-to-pole coverage Enhanced safety and decreased congestion Significant annual fuel savings Increased air operations capacity and efficiency Reduced emissions and environmental impact

Status Testing protocols underway
Remaining satellites deployed in a series of 7 launches over the next 18 months Service operational in 2018 November 2015: International Telecommunications Union (ITU) adopts allocation for 1090 MHz for reception of ADS-B signals by satellite January 2017: Successful launch and deployment of first 10 Iridium NEXT satellites with Aireon payload
