Activity Subsidy Scheme Training Subsidy Scheme Sponsorship Scheme Physical Activity Fund Gym Discounts So, My Active Support is the financial help that members can receive to help them get more active. There are 5 ways listed here. Active Subsidy is a pot of money for members who take part in 10k runs, half marathons, triathlons, touch mudders etc. and CSSC can cover part of the entry fee to these types of events. Members can receive up to £20 for an entry fee and can do this twice in one year. All you need to do is complete the race and then go onto the website and click on subsidies and click on the online form. it’s a very popular scheme, CSSC receive over 3000 claims each year from members! Training Subsidy is a pot of money available to anyone completing an umpiring, refereeing, instructor or coaching qualification. Sponsorship Scheme provides financial support to members who suffer from hardship or disability and CSSC can help cover the costs of them getting active. The Physical Activity Fund is a pot of money for any member who would like to start up a new activity in their workplace or local area. The most popular applications we receive are for members wanting to start up exercise classes, yoga or pilates in their workplace on a lunchtime. CSSC can help cover the equipment, instructor or venue costs to get the activity up and running in their workplace. Average application receives £200 - £500 to help. It’s a simple application process that can be found on the CSSC websit.

There are practical tools and resources for members of all abilities and you will be able to find tools and resources within these 4 categories; members who want to Begin and Learn, those who want to Improve and Explore, members who want to Challenge and Compete and members who would like to Lead and Organise. Within the Begin and Learn section we have resources such as 6-8 week training plans, there are Desk to 5K and Desk to 10K PDF training plans that members can print off and follow. We have maps and routes for members to find their nearest running route or cycle paths. And we have got a section on discounts which groups together all the top running, walking, etc discounts at CSSC so you don’t have to spend hours looking through My Savings+. For Improve and Explore resources, we have the ability for members to find their local run, walk, swim and cycle club but putting in their postcode. We have an Advice Surgery with a set of CSSC volunteers who can answer your questions, whether thats on the maintenance of your bike, what footwear you should be wearing when you go for a run etc. These volunteers can help. The Advice Surgery opens for one month at a time, its just closed, but will reopen again for the whole of January.

5 Download CSSCs free health and fitness app which rewards members for being active
Get Active - Every activity earns you points e.g. daily steps, gym visits and CSSC activities Collect Points – Connect to your favourite fitness app, devices and start collecting points. Get Rewards – spend your points on cash vouchers from big brands and retailers. The My Active Rewards app is a free health and fitness app that incentivises members to get active through the collection of points and cash vouchers. The app is for both apple and android users. All you need to do is download the app, start getting active through going for a walk round the park, walking the dog, going for a run, going to the gym, playing tennis, etc and you will receive points for your activity. Once you have accumulated enough points, you can then exchange your points for cash vouchers. You get approx. 20 points for each activity and you will need 1200 points to receive a £5 cash voucher for almost any high street retailer and 2500 gets you £10 cash voucher sent in the post. How it works – we are working with a company called Bounts who have created the technology and are the brains behind the app. In pretty much most gyms and leisure centres there are small beacons in the reception area which will detect when your phone enters into the gym/leisure centre/tennis court etc. As long as you are there for 20-30mins, you will receive the points. For walking and running etc, you will need a separate simple app i.e Moves, Strava etc that can tell the My Active Rewards app how many steps you have done, or that you have been running for example. As long as you are active for 20-30mins you will receive the points. We have a number of national finals and regional qulaifiers which have points associated with them and we have put between 50 – 200 points to these to encourage participation. To do this all we need to do is tell the company bounts the date and postcode of the evetn and bounts will geofence the area which means that any phone with the app walking into that postcode on that day will receive the points. We now want to work with our affiliates i.e areas, regions, DAs etc to ensure that more CSSC activities have points associated with them so watch this space for how you can do this!
