Al-Zahrawi was from Spain in the 10th century. He was a surgeon and scholar. Wrote a book about 200 surgical tools and how to perform surgery.
He invented surgical tools. He wrote a book called al-Tasrif the first medical encyclopedia. He was the first to use catgut. It is still used today.
We still use most of his surgical tools in hospitals today. Doctors learned from his book on how to perform surgeries. He contributed to the medical world.
