Alternative ways of heating

During this year's winter people tried to find some different ways to keep their house warm.As the price of oil has been heavily increased, people tend to use other more inexpensive fuels or products. Alternative heating methods are not only cheaper, they're usually more environmentally friendly than using oil or gas to keep yourself warm.

Fireplaces The fireplaces are a very common way of heating in villages. It is inexpensive as the only thing somebody needs to use a fireplace is wood.

Pellet stove A cousin to the wood-burning stove, pellet stoves are the newest way to heat homes at a wallet-friendly price. Because many are direct-vented, they don’t require a chimney, making them inexpensive to install. The Environmental Protection Agency considers them among the cleanest-burning heating appliances around and exempts them from smoke-emission testing requirements. Pellets made from compacted sawdust or wood chips have higher combustion efficiencies than wood and other fossil fuels.

Natural Gas Natural gas is found in deep underground natural rock formations or associated with other hydrocarbon reservoirs in coal beds and as methane clathrates. It is a powerful domestic heating and cooking fuel. It is used for water heaters, boilers, furnaces and gas-heated machines

Air Conditioners Air conditioning is the process of altering the properties of air to more favorable conditions. Air conditioners are cheap to be maintained but they are expensive to be installed

Solar Thermal Solar water heating takes the heat from the sun, and uses it to heat water for use in the home. Like solar PV, you need a roof that faces between south east and south west – the closer to due south the better. However, for solar thermal panels you need less space: between 1 and 2 square metres per person is a rule of thumb. You also need space to install a tall, thin water cylinder with two coils.
