1 Discussing Racism How does the Color of Fear reveal the ways in which we are affected by our experiences? Why is it hard to discuss racism? Why is it important to have open discussion?

2 Contextual Interviewing: Micro Level
How would you describe your health? Do you have access to health care? Who do you consider your family? How would you describe your family? What was your relationship like growing up? What is your relationship with family like now? What role do friends play in your life? How satisfied are you with your friendships How do you feel about school/work? How would you describe your neighborhood? Where do you feel a sense belonging?

3 Contextual Interview: Identities
What roles do you play that are important to who you are (e.g. mom)? What groups or communities or cultural traditions do you identify with as important to who you are? What role does religion play in your life? Are there rights (legally or socially) you wish you had? Are there things you’d like to change in society (or about your school)?

4 Contextual Interview: “The Problem”
To what extent does this problem affect how you see yourself? To what extent does this problem get in the way of things you’d like to do? How much distress does this problem cause you? Physically? Emotionally? Time spent with it? What types of connections or supports do you wish you had to help you get through this problem? What kinds of actions would you like to be able to take to make this situation better?
