Grading policy
The 7th grade operates on a weighted grade scale. Students’ assignments fall into one of the following categories
(Classwork, Homework, Quiz, or Test) and each category is a certain percent of a student’s grade.
Homework 10%
Classwork 20%
Quiz 30%
Test 40%

A = 90 – 100
B = 80 – 89
C = 70-77
D = 60-69
F = 59 or below

Each student will be given a textbook with instructions on when to bring to class and how they will be used!
Homework Policy:
You will have some type of homework most nights. We usually begin these assignments in class and if the students do not finish in class, they are required to finish it as homework. Each student will fill out his or her planner with all homework assignments daily.

Mr. Byrd will designate a day each week for optional after school tutoring or make up work opportunities!
Contact your teacher if more help is needed.
Late work:
Assignments are expected on the due date. After 2 days late work will not be accepted!
Absent work:
Students are allowed to make up all assignments that are missed when they are absent from school. Students must request missing work from each teacher the day they return to school. Students will have one day in addition to the number of days that they were absent in order to complete and turn in all missing work without penalty. For example: If a student misses 1 day of school, they will have 2 days to complete and turn in all make up work upon returning to school.
