Review the statements created during the Gallup Processing Activity for each Gallup question. Categorize: Is this IN OUR CONTROL? Is this OUT OF OUR CONTROL? Does this belong in a different area of our work? (PARKING LOT)

6 Reworking for Growth Review the statements that you placed in the IN OUR CONTROL category. Determine if the wording is GROWTH MINDSET or FIXED MINDSET. Move the statements to the appropriate column on the chart. Provide the examples once the fixed and growth chart is done.

7 Reworking for Growth For those statements that are fixed mindset, work with your group to create growth mindset statements. Fixed Mindset: Less interruptions during the class day that stops my ability to continue meaningful instruction for my students. Growth Mindset: Faculty members will collaborate to take an active role in their students’ academic performance to help minimize classroom interruptions and maintain a focus on meaningful instruction. *Submit your growth statements using the Google Form provided.

8 Reworking for Growth For those statements that are fixed mindset, work with your group to create growth mindset statements. Fixed Mindset: Less time spent in meetings and work groups so teachers can focus on planning the best possible lessons for students. Growth Mindset: We will commit to working with our PLC to plan engaging lessons for our students. We will be prepared, on time, and actively engage in meetings to help maximize our time. *Submit your growth statements using the Google Form provided.

9 Reworking for Growth For those statements that are fixed mindset, work with your group to create growth mindset statements. Fixed Mindset: Keeping their students in their classroom when they are supposed to be in there. Also, not keeping my kids when they are supposed to be in my classroom. Growth Mindset: We will respect everyone’s instructional time by teaching bell to bell and making sure students are going to their assigned class on time. *Submit your growth statements using the Google Form provided.
