2 EXPECTATIONS… Design a lesson that integrated technology Have students work in teams Align lesson with district standards and the state framework Design a rubric for culminating task Use a pre and post test to evaluate student achievement Design a lesson where students gain knowledge about elections and campaigning Gain technology skills

3 LEARNING OUTCOMES  Developed a lesson integrating technology  Increased technology skills and awareness  Created a web page with links  Imported graphics  Learned from colleagues  Developed an awareness of how powerful technology is in our world

4 SUCCESSES  Students were engaged and motivated  Students learned to work in teams  Students became aware of propaganda techniques in their every day world  Teacher became less fearful of technology and more aware of the applications to the classroom  Students were successful in their culminating presentation

5 SHORTCOMINGS  Not enough time!!!!  Little access to Internet  Some students did not show growth from pretest to post test  High absentee rate makes group projects difficult

7 REFLECTIONS AND REVISIONS  Allow more time for this lesson  Find a way for more access to computers and Internet for students  Require charts, graphs, pictures to be done using technology  Use the computer to help absent students to catch up

8 CONCLUDING STATEMENT This entire process has made me grow as a teacher and a person. I have learned to use technology and not fear it. I will continue to work on developing my own technology skills and integrating technology into my classroom. It was very exciting and inspiring to collaborate with my colleagues and learn from them.
