Mary Poppins is a 1964 musical film adapted from a book edited in 1934 which tells the story of a nanny in She takes care of 2 children Michael and Jane . Their father Mr Banks works in a bank, and Mrs Banks is a member of Emmeline Pankhurst's suffragette movement.  Bert is a friend of Mary Poppins and has many different Jobs like a chimney sweep. He follows Mary Poppins and the children during the film.

My Character is an 8 year old boy called James Thomas. I work as a climbing boy for a chimney sweeper in London. The year is which is the Victorian/Edwardian era.

I am paid very little if I am very lucky I will get a couple a coppers. I live with the Chimney Sweep. I have very little food so I remain small to fit up the chimneys. I often sleep on soot piles or the floor.

Chimney Sweeps often suffocate due to a lack of oxygen and also die due to getting stuck up the chimney.
