1 Marking And Feedback At
Adel St John

2 In our lessons, we always have a learning intention so we know what we are going to learn.
One of the ways teachers mark our work is to let us know how we have done in relation to the learning intention.

3 For this they use three stamps or codes:
1. Next Steps Planned (NSP) 2. Nearly There (NT) 3. Not Yet (NY)

4 Sometimes, a stamp or code is enough to let us know that the teacher knows how we have got on and has planned our next step. Sometimes, more detailed marking helps us to improve.

5 If the teacher wants us to look at our learning again and make improvements, they will mark it in more detail. They use: * YIPPEE YELLOW * GO FORWARD GREEN * THE MARKING KEY

10 When our teacher has marked some learning in detail, we have Improvement Time. This usually happens first thing in the morning. It helps us to improve.

11 Other Ways We Receive Feedback
* Sometimes our teacher talks to us about our work, telling us what we've done well or how to improve. * Sometimes we mark, edit and improve our own work. *Sometimes we mark a partner's work - we sometimes imagine we are the teacher and mark it like they might!
