1 By investigating other works and artists it allows creativity and inspiration for new ideas! You must show you can annotate the artists work and give your opinion of the work as well as information.

Pages to include for A01: Visual mind map of your theme. Gallery visit and annotation of your day and what you found interesting. Artist research pages (a minimum of 3) HOW? Finding relevant images of artists work. Looking at art work. Commenting on what you see. Showing how these have inspired your ideas. What to write about the artists work: Facts about the work Facts about the Artist Your opinions Although Art is not considered to be a subject that involves a lot of writing you will be expected to make notes on your artwork. This will allow us as teachers when assessing the work, to understand the journey of your work. You must use professional art language whenever you can, to express your thoughts as taught by your teacher. Top Tip!! Remember, your work must always be presented to give the ‘wow’ factor! Even though you will be writing lots of analysis, think how you can creatively present your work, a well presented page adds to the refinement of your art work.

Have you explored different surfaces? Have you explored different materials. Annotate your work, even if it didn't’t go well, you can pick up marks for critically analysing your work. List of medias to experiment with: Acrylic paint Watercolour Pencil Pen and ink Coloured pencil Fabric painting and sewing Relief/texture work 3D sculpture – clay, mod rock Painting on different surfaces Collage Watercolour pencils Top Tip!!! Create a samples page to show colour/surface testing, annotate what worked or didn't’t work.

Photograph your own drawing observations and put them in your sketchbook along with your drawings! Visit galleries to see real life art and annotate your findings.

How? Collecting images – taking your own photographs of what you want to draw Good quality drawing, painting, sketches Annotating your work Discussing your work/progress, respond to teacher feedback Drawing, painting, printing, photography Top Tip: Primary observation means drawing from real life! Draw from as many things first hand as possible and then photograph to show that you are also recording your work digitally. Record your ideas in visual forms… presentation! Make your drawings accurate. Pages to include for A03 Your own photographs of your theme. Drawings from these photographs. Experimentation from these photos in different media. Annotating your sketches, describing your work.

7 Your final piece will be based over a 10hr assessment
Your final piece will be based over a 10hr assessment. It could consist of a sculpture, a large painting/drawing or a relief piece. It must shows links to your previous project work. It is the conclusion to your project findings.
