2 National Women’s Health Week 2017
When: May 14–20, 2017 Goal: HHS OWH wants all women to make their health a priority. HHS OWH also wants women to learn what steps they can take to live healthier lives. HHS = U.S. Department of Health & Human Services OWH = Office on Women’s Health

3 Key Messages for #NWHW Visit a doctor or nurse for a well-woman visit (checkup) and preventive screenings. Get active. Eat healthy. Pay attention to mental health, including getting enough sleep and managing stress. Avoid unhealthy behaviors, such as smoking, texting while driving, and not wearing a seatbelt or bicycle helmet.

4 #NWHW Website: womenshealth.gov/nwhw
HHS OWH’s NWHW website is the hub for NWHW and serves as a vital way for HHS OWH to deliver information and resources to their NWHW audience.

5 Call to Action for #NWHW
Women’s health needs change as they age (ages & stages content) HHS OWH wants women to click on their decade — 20s through 90s — and review the steps they can take to live healthier lives: Every day I will try to Talk to my doctor at least once a year about Ask if I need these tests, medicines, or vaccines this year Content is based on recommendations from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (link is external), the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, the Women’s Preventive Services Guidelines, the 2015–2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, and the Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans.
