- Colonists were not permitted to go
West of the Appalachian Mountains.
Why would the King of England establish this proclamation against the colonists?

Soon after incidents such as the Boston Massacre occurred. - British soldiers stayed behind after the French & Indian War; Jobs became scarce, tensions rose; March 5, fight broke out & shots were fired by the British; 5 ppl were killed.
Was this really a massacre? Why or why not?

Boston Tea Party: Occurred in response to the Tea Act - Colonists (Sons of Liberty) dressed up like Native Americans and dumped 342 chests of tea into the Boston Harbor.
Committees of Correspondence: Groups set up by American colonists to exchange information about British threats to their liberties
