Belief is the underlying basis of salvation - It is the first work from God – John 6:28-29
Then they said to Him, "What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?“ Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.“ John 6:28-29

Belief is the underlying basis of salvation - It is the first work from God – John 6: It is the meaning of confession – Romans 10:9-10
If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:9-10

Fundamental belief: Not the “meatier” matters – Hebrews 5:12-14 A matter of identity John 8:24 "I said therefore to you, that you shall die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am [He], you shall die in your sins."
Heb 5:12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

We must believe He is the Christ, the Son of God John 20:31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. We must believe Jesus “I AM” (Jehovah)

Seven “ I AM”s that we must believe: I AM THE BREAD OF LIFE John 6:35 And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”

Seven “you are”s involved in these passages: He who comes to Me shall never hunger He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness (He who) enters by Me, he will be saved I am known by My own. He who believes in Me….shall live. No one comes to the Father except through Me. You are the branches

20. What We Must Believe
Belief is the basis to successful obedience We must believe in the identity of Jesus We must react in that belief

Acts 16:30-33 And he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household." Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night and washed their stripes. And immediately he and all his family were baptized.
