1 FFS 2020 Executive update – June 2016
HSO Newsletter – December 2016 FFS 2020 Executive update – June 2016 Please see below for some important changes to upcoming HSO sponsored events. All of these changes were recently discussed at our monthly HSO meeting. Don’t forget to attend future meetings and share your voice! Coach Bag Bingo (Date: Saturday, March 25, 2017) Please take note of the date change. This changed as a direct result of competing events held by other schools. The spirit of the event is not changing. The basket raffle that was typically held at the Adult Social will be moved to this event. Why??? We believe that the bingo will appeal to more members of the parish and community which will allow us to extend our reach and benefit financially from their purchase of raffle tickets. Planning of the bingo was already off to a strong start with a number of volunteers excited about a new venture! Lastly, there was a lack of volunteers willing to take ownership of the adult social. Adult Social (Tentative Date: Saturday, April 22, 2017) The date of this event has not changed since it was originally announced. The spirit of this event is changing slightly. How? We will be shifting our focus from fundraising to an ICA Family (adult only) evening out. The goal is for ICA families to get to get to know one another better and to make new families feel welcome. While the basket raffle items will not be at this event, we still plan on having the live auction and tentatively some silent auction items that you are used to seeing as those were focused towards the school families. We recognize that some of the parents out there really enjoyed the competitive nature of the live auction! Our goal is to hold the event at an outside venue that is still being determined. Why the change? As a parent group we need to do a better job of matriculating new families into the school. That said, a shift in focus will help us achieve this primary goal. The adult social has been a labor intensive event for a small number of people over the past few years. And, volunteers have been dwindling in recent history. Using an external venue will alleviate the need for set-up, clean-up, decorating, teacher volunteers, parent volunteers (so everyone can enjoy the evening!). Lastly, based on the initial response to the coach bag bingo, we may be able to meet a significant portion of our fundraising goals there rather than at the social. We hope that you find these changes as refreshing as we do! We are really looking forward to these wonderful events! Next

How Can you Help? FFS 2020 Executive update – June 2016 We would be remiss if we did not say thank you to all of our wonderful families for their support during the first few months of the school year. It is greatly appreciated!!! We also thought it would be helpful to share the results of each event that has concluded so you can see how we have benefited from your generosity! McTeacher’s Night This event was another success! The children really seemed to enjoy going to McDonalds and seeing their teachers and friends. This event yielded $ Kidstuff Books This is another great fundraiser that the ICA families continue to find value in. This is a little bit of a longer fundraiser so we are still in the process of finalizing our numbers. But at this point it looks like we will make approximately $1, A huge thank you to Michelle Curley for chairing this event!! Trunk or Treat Despite the uncertain weather we faced this year, the kids really seemed to enjoy the event even though we had to move indoors. Thank you to Jessica Adams who worked extremely hard to pull this event together! Christmas Bazaar This was a very popular event again this year! Great vendors, great food, great fun!! This event yielded $2, There were many people who pitched in to make this event successful. A shout out to Kira Voelker, Deb Petras, and Linda Sutton! Holiday Shoppe The children always love shopping for their friends and family (and sometimes themselves)! Thank you Angie Rogers for coordinating this wonderful event! 12 Days of Christmas The raffle was successful again this year! Thank you to all who purchased and/or sold tickets! This event yielded $3, Thank you Colleen Madrak who helped get many of the great prizes donated!!! Cookie Walk What a wonderful event! Thank you to everyone who donated cookies and/or their time for this event. It is wonderful knowing that we were able to help a family in our parish community. You helped us raise $ The change in venue afforded us a great opportunity to sit down, relax, and converse with one another over coffee or hot chocolate. I hope you took advantage of this time to meet some new ICA families – I know we did! Another huge thank you to Jessica Adams who donated her time and energy towards another event for HSO! Soft Pretzels The soft pretzels continue to do very well. To date we have made $3, Thank you Kelly Cress for running the pretzel program (and all of her supporters!)! Next
