4 Dress Policy Our dress policy is as follows:
It is an expectation and district/school policy that students dress in full PE uniform (shirt, shorts, and athletic shoes) daily. Students may wear cold weather appropriate clothing that is PE specific. Disciplinary steps will be taken if the student does not follow the expectation. The steps are as follows: 1st-warning 2nd-call home 3rd-30 min detention 4th-1 hour detention 5th-student will be referred to the office

5 Grading Policy Our grading policy is as follows:
Students can earn 5 points for daily participation and 2 points for dress. If students are not dressed for PE class they will still be expected to participate to the best of their ability. If they are not in complete uniform they will not receive the full points for the day. Students without athletic shoes cannot participate safely and will receive a 0(zero) for the day. Our retake policy is as follows: Students will be given the opportunity to retake tests/quizzes within five days from when the graded test is handed back. The students will need to provide documentation showing that they have prepared for the retake with any of the following: student generated study guide, corrections to the original test, practice work, or another activity previously agreed upon by the teacher and student. All retakes are up to the teacher's discretion.

6 What will my grade for the day look like?
You will receive a grade 0-2 points for dress. You will receive a grade 0-5 points for level of engagement in the days activities. These grades will be reported separately in eschool daily.

7 Physical Education Daily Participation Point Scale
5 Completed all daily stretches and exercises, was actively engaged in class activities.  Student is on-task near 100 percent of activity time.  Fully demonstrates individual responsibility during group physical activities. 4 Completed all daily stretches and exercises, student is actively involved in all activities, but the effort is not maximum.  Engaged and on-task nearly 80 percent of the time in demonstrating cooperative skills during group physical activities. 3 Student is actively involved in the majority of activities, but with minimum effort.  Student effort varies greatly and requires cues to give better effort and to demonstrate appropriate skills in group physical activities. 2 Effort was below average and student was off task and not actively involved in most class activities.  There is disruption in individual and group physical activities.  Cues to give better effort and increase physical activity are ineffective. 1 Poor effort, disruptive behavior, dangerous behavior; student is not actively involved in most class activities.  Health-enhancing levels of physical fitness are not present.  Is rarely on task during activity time.  With repeated cues, student’s behavior is often disruptive to the class. Uncooperative with other students and teacher.  Student does not participate in class activities.  Student demonstrates a total lack of effort or any physical competency individually or in group activities.

8 Locker Room Expectations
ARRIVE ON TIME You must be in the locker room prior to the bell. If you are having difficulties making it to the locker room on time, speak to your PE teacher and arrangements will be discussed. Penalties for violations include: 1st  offense  : Warning 2nd offense  : Parent Phone Call 3rd offense: 30 minute detention 4th+ offense: 30 minute detention APPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR IS EXPECTED AT ALL TIMES This is expected both in the locker room and during class. Respect the belongings of others. Inappropriate behavior (throwing locks or clothes, running in the locker room, using inappropriate language) will not be tolerated. EXIT WHEN DRESSED As soon as you are dressed for class, you should go to your assigned roll spot in the gym and be seated. Do not wait for your friends in the locker room. When you enter the gym, go immediately to your roll spot. Do not start playing with the equipment in the gym. You may talk to your classmates sitting near you until warm-ups begin. LOCK YOUR CLOTHES The locker room will be supervised for the first and last four minutes of class. During class, the locker room doors will not be locked. It is required that you lock up your personal items in your locker with your given lock. NO SPRAYS IN THE LOCKER ROOMS The use of aerosol deodorant and/or cologne sprays (ie., TAG, AXE) is prohibited. It is encouraged for students to bring roll-on or stick antiperspirant deodorant. Those in violation of this rule will receive a warning. Subsequent violations will result in the product being confiscated. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated. CELL PHONES NO CELL PHONE USE IN THE LOCKER ROOM!  CELL PHONES SHOULD BE TURNED OFF BEFORE YOU ENTER THE LOCKER ROOM OR GYM!   ANYONE WHO VIOLATES THIS POLICY WILL BE SUBJECT TO SCHOOL DISCIPLINARY ACTION!

9 Physical Education Expectations
RESPECT Please respect your classmates, your teachers, the equipment, and the facilities. When a teacher or a classmate is talking, you should give them your full attention.   BE ON TIME You must be in the locker room prior to the bell. You must be seated on your squad spot four minutes after the bell has rung. If you are not on your spot when your teacher is taking attendance, you will be considered late. Penalties for violations include: 1st  offense  : Warning 2nd offense  : Parent Phone Call 3rd offense: 30 minute detention 4th+ offense: 30 minute detention BE PREPARED FOR CLASS EVERY DAY. This includes having appropriate attire. You should bring a positive attitude to class as           well. Participate to the best of your ability. The more willing you are to learn and try new things, the greater the experience will be. You will get from this class what you put into it. Strive to be an active participant throughout the school year.
