1 Welcome! Mrs. Romero 4th Grade, Room 40
Please visit the side table for sign in. Visit back table for PTO forms and additional information. Please fill out the pink student information sheet before you leave. You may sit anywhere you want. The presentation will begin at 5:05.

2 A Little Bit About Me First year teaching.
Previous career in Financial Aid/Account Manager at Swift Transportation. Married 3 years 1 kid and 1 Husky: Noah – 8 months old. Treasure – 8 years old. My life: Arizona Native Raised in the Chandler School District Big family person/Organ Donor Excited to be your child's teacher

3 Curriculum Follow AZ Standards
In 4th grade we will also be stressing how important it is to be responsible for assignments which include being neat, complete, and on time.

4 Snack Lunch Snack time midmorning Preferably healthier snacks
New snack everyday No sharing Please bring a water bottle every day! Lunch 11:55 If you come to eat lunch with your child, please sign in front office Separate table will be provided for you and your child

5 Class Management Students are expected to follow rules and procedures
Student will get a warning Student will be asked to “Take a Break and Refocus” Wrangler Misconduct (information will be sent out next week)

6 Classroom Community It is an environment in which students feel valued as individuals, and connected to their teacher and to each other. What does that mean- partners, group work, rooting each other on, celebrating success, being a leader, willing to help others. Most Importantly being a valuable player on Mrs. Romero’s Team.

7 Accelerated Reader Each student will take a test on the computer to determine their reading level. Each student will have a goal based on their reading ability. New goal each quarter. They will take A.R. tests on the computer when they complete the book. They should be testing on books read at home. Each test is worth a specific number of points.

8 Homework Purpose is to reinforce skills and give feedback
Can be adjusted during the week Reviewed first thing the following morning Exceptions (send a note or ) Study Hall in lieu of recess if not completed Friday Folder

9 Wrangler of the Week One person per week
Poster will come home on Friday and due back on Monday. Perks Poster displayed for the week Bookmark/Eraser from teacher

10 Communication Emailed Includes information and important dates
Grades, progress reports, and report cards Infinite Campus Paperless!!! School website By phone or note By (preferred) Check your this weekend! 

11 Field Trips/Tax Credit Money
Sonora Desert Museum in Tucson Thursday, November 2nd $35 fee (charter buses)  State Capital 4th Quarter 4th grade fundraiser Gobble Grams Need Tootsie Roll Pops

12 Monday Don’t forget your water bottle and school supplies.
Go to bed early on Sunday.  Bell rings at 8:30 a.m. School will begin at 8:35 a.m. Our special on Monday is PE. Don’t forget your lunch and know how you will be getting home.

13 We are going to have a great year!
