13 The social workload seems stuck
Social made no progress between the 2011 and surveys. The level of satisfaction fell slightly. The percentage of respondents planning to deploy social rose.

15 Microsoft will address the three big adoption challenges
SharePoint 2013 and Yammer add capabilities; will they be enough for you? SharePoint 2013 improves cloud deployment, social functions, and mobile access. Yammer gives Microsoft great facilities to address all of the challenges in greater depth. High-velocity customers may find Microsoft’s delivery schedules too slow, which could place even more emphasis on Yammer over time. Many buyers don’t consider any alternatives.

31 What it means Microsoft SharePoint is the centerpiece of many enterprises’ collaboration and content strategies . . . . . . but it isn’t clear to us that enterprises will continue to invest in SharePoint for social, web content, and content delivery functionality. Customers also struggle to adopt SharePoint’s full range of features, which hurts the long-term business value of the product.

32 What it means (cont.) Business management’s satisfaction with SharePoint and the perception of its value are hurt by uninspired user experiences. Microsoft understands these customer challenges, but its various strategies to overcome them must succeed to continue SharePoint’s growth in enterprises. Microsoft must fully articulate the future product strategy for SharePoint and Yammer, so clients can plan accordingly.
