2 1. Study Zones First off, if you’re going to study, you have to find a place to do so. Study in a place or room where you know you won’t get distracted and where you’re comfortable in. Try places like: Your bedroom The library The kitchen (if you’re not hungry) An empty classroom

3 2. Never Procrastinate Never procrastinate. If you put off studying until the night before your exam, it will be very difficult to retain all that information in your brain. Instead, try: Studying in blocks, taking breaks every minutes Reviewing the work right after class so it’s still fresh in your mind Briefly summarizing what you’ve studied after every block

4 3. Summarizing When you summarize and condense the most important information into a few notes, it will be easier to study and understand. When studying, try: Separating the most important information and summarizing it Learn the general concepts of your information first Make short, summarized notes

5 4. Group Work When working in a group, if the people you’re working with don’t care about the assignment or their grades, it will be very tough for you, yourself to get a good mark. Try: Working with people who have the same goal as you Work with others you know you will get along with Work as a team, have an open-mind

6 5. Healthy Balance Have a healthy balance between studying and resting or other. By balancing these two evenly, it will be easier to focus on studies later on. Try: Taking breaks between studying every minutes Studying in half-and-hour to hour blocks Have frequent snacks in between studying to get the juices flowing

7. Memorizing and Understanding It’s easy to memorize notes, but the thing that really matters is understanding the material, try to memorize by: Repeating the information to yourself, multiple times And try to understand by: Looking up words you don’t know or understand

9 8. Preparation When you prepare for studying in the first place, later on it will be easier to have all your material and whatnot organized. Try: Writing down all the formulas needed for an assignment (math) Having all your material in front of you first Having all distracting devices off

10 9. Staying Focused When you stay focused on work, you will get more things finished quicker and you will understand all the information. Try: Turning all devices and social networks off Set a goal, such as: read the first 5 pages of a book then take a short break Have a study buddy you will stay focused and on task with
