I am Lt Col Peter Bates, Been in the army for about 36 yrs, During which time I have served with the airborne and commando forces and found my self walking/ tabbing / yomping / on Dartmoor as well as a fair number of equally glorious and inhospitable places around the world. I work / in the HQ in Tidworth and I am the Army lead on Ten Tors.
I shall be speaking on behalf of the new Director TT Col Andrew Dawes , who sends his apologies and has taken a great interest in ensuring that today is a useful day for all.
He has asked me to pass on to you various things the most important of which is - His thanks and admiration for the work you do do and will be doing in the forthcoming year. He looks forward to meeting with you all at some future stage.
