2. Create Your Homepage Open Microsoft Frontpage Type the following text:
Your Name
Geog 121 Section Number and Meeting Time/day
“The Pennsylvania State University”
“PSU Department of Geography”
Your Penn State address
You can go back and edit this for style later on

3. Creating Hyperlinks Highlight the selected text
ONLY “The Pennsylvania…”
Click Create Hyperlink Button 
Type the full URL ( in the address field
Do the same for “PSU Department…”
The website is

4. Saving your webpage Go to File  Save
Open the top drop down menu and Find your AccessID/labserver
Choose this destination
Create a new folder labeled “www”
Save everything for your website in this folder!
Use “index” as the filename and click save
IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A WEBPAGE, DO NOT SAVE IT AS INDEX!! Use a different Filename and link it back to your existing homepage

5. Project Zero  Your Biography
While still in Frontpage click File  New
This will open a new blank webpage
Copy the text of your biography here
Save this using the same format as your homepage, but using a different filename.

6. Saving and Inserting Images
Save your image as a .jpg file in your ‘www’ folder.
If it does not already come in this format (i.e. it is part of a WORD document), use the following steps
Copy your image into ‘Microsoft Photo Editor’ or some other photo editing application
Save your image as a .jpg file in your ‘www’ folder!
Insert this image onto your webpage in Frontpage

7. Linking Project Zero to your homepage
Open your homepage (index.htm)
Type & highlight the text “Project Zero”
Use the Create Hyperlink button
Click on the project zero filename above, that you created, and then OK.
Be sure to SAVE your homepage again!

8. Check up…
Be sure that everything is saved in a folder named ‘www’ on your network drive.
Include any images that are on your webpages in this folder
Do NOT create a separate folder for images.

9. Uploading your webpage to the internet using PASS Explorer
In Internet Explorer type the URL: portal.psu.edu
Login (click the ‘Login button on the top left)
Scroll down to the PASS EXPLORER

Once in the PASS, click on [www] and Change Folder.

11. Uploading your webpage to the internet using PASS Explorer
Once in the ‘www’ folder click ‘Upload’ and then browse for your files and click upload.

12. Check up…
Be sure to upload your webpage files (.htm) as well as any images you use within your pages!
Check to see if it worked…
Open Internet Explorer
Type into the address bar with your AccessID
It is important to upload your work each time you are finished editing, otherwise it will not appear on the web!
