1. TCP LIMS – Facility and Safety Information
Objectives
The purpose of this course is to demonstrate how TCP users can locate facility-related forms and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), as well as information on equipment/room reservations and hazardous agents.

2. Standard Operation Procedures (SOPs)
A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) provides step-by-step instructions for performing routine processes and procedures. TCP has an extensive list of facility- related SOPs that must be followed when working with their experimental animals.
To search for a SOP, navigate to Facility >> SOP >> SOP Search.

3. Hazardous Agents
Each hazardous agent in LIMS has its own record that includes potential health risks, related SOP(s) , and its Safety Data Sheet (SDS). Agents approved for use on an AUP can be found under the Hazardous Agents tab on the View AUP page. For more information, please review the AUP Management module.
To search for a hazardous agent, navigate to Regulations >> Hazardous Agents >> Hazardous Agents Search.

4. Equipment Reservations
The Equipment Reservations page should be used to reserve the TCP rooms and/or equipment needed to perform procedures in the animal facility.
To create a reservation, navigate to Facility >> Reservations >> Create Reservation.
Some equipment has charges associated with it. This information is displayed in the equipment’s description.

5. Equipment Reservations
The Calendar displays the equipment / room usage so that you can resolve conflicts.
Red – indicates a conflict
Green – indicates no conflict
Blue – indicates a pre-existing reservation
Use the Select and View buttons to select the equipment you want to reserve
Click Save to create the reservation.

6. Equipment Reservations
To view existing reservations, navigate to Facility >> Reservations >> Reservation Search.
You can view, modify, or cancel your reservation by clicking the View link.

7. Equipment Reservations
Please be considerate of your fellow researchers.
create reservations so that the equipment you need will be available when you need it
reserve only the equipment you need for the period of time that you need it
cancel reservations that you no longer need

8. Forms Commonly used forms at TCP are available for download from LIMS
To find a form, navigate to Facility >> Forms.

9. Training A list of available courses and their offerings is available.
To find a course, navigate to Facility >> Training.
Follow the information provided in the course description for accessing course material.

10. Training Click the Enroll button for the best date/time.
Click on the course name will display a list of all upcoming sessions
