3. What is Kepserver Enterprise?
Developed by Kepware Technologies (KepserverEX)
Data server used to collect data from non-Rockwell Automation controllers
We use RSLinx as our data server to collect data from Rockwell Automation controllers

6. Development (PC) vs. Runtime (PVP) Compatibility
IMPORTANT: The configuration file created on the PC must use the same version of Kepserver running on the PanelView Plus

7. Make Sure You Have the Correct Versions
If the PVP is a V6.1 and the FactoryTalk View ME Studio software is V7.0, KepServer V5.3 should be loaded on the development PC.
You cannot have KepServer V5.3 and V5.7 loaded on your PC.
You can have KepServer V4.5 and V5.7 or V5.3 on your PC
If you have both V4.5 and V5.7 on your PC, make sure you are running the correct KepServer version when creating the runtime file

8. Installing Kepserver on PC
With FTVME V7.0 and greater, you have the option to install V5.7 only or both V4.5 & V5.7.

9. Installing Kepserver on PC
By default, the installation installs neither drivers nor driver help.

10. Kepserver Installed on the PC
Kepserver runs as a service on your PC
Make sure you have the correct version of KepServer opened while creating the runtime file.

11. Installing Kepserver on PVP/PVPce/PVP6
Use the Firmware Upgrade Wizard to install Kepserver and associated driver on the PanelView/PanelView CE. (Note: PVP400s and PVP600s – CF card only)

12. Installing KepServer on PVP6
Use the Firmware Upgrade Wizard to enable the Kepware driver on the PVP6 or use the Windows CE operating system. See Answer ID
